The Saint Paul Healthy Transportation for All: Building Grassroots Capacity project’s overall goal is to actively engage Saint Paul grassroots community leaders to create a sustainable multimodal transportation system that is economically efficient, environmentally sound, equitable and improves public health. The project will help build the capacity of Saint Paul neighborhoods and community members, especially those from underrepresented communities, to meaningfully engage on health and transportation topics with other community members. The project will also help community leaders in creating equitable economic opportunities, building neighborhood resiliency and supporting healthy transportation choices.

Specific project goals are to:

  • Challenge and empower participants to take the lead on creating transportation systems that improve public health, equity, economic vitality, and environmental sustainability
  • Provide participants with information, resources and skills to be community leaders
  • Provide opportunities for participants to connect to and network with neighborhood, city, regional and state transportation representatives
