Kim was raised in a rural area in southwest Minnesota where the number of dirt roads was greater than the number of students in an average graduating class. Her transition to the great urban center of the Twin Cities was the beginning of Kim’s passion for the life that can be found in cities. A graduate of Augsburg College, Kim found herself eager to put her Sociology major and Urban Studies minor to use. After an internship with FSI in the Fall of 2013 she was highly encouraged by the values and methods of the organization and gratefully accepted a position as a community organizer with them. When Kim isn’t busy measuring streets, conducting parking studies, or doing head counts at FSI block parties she can be found dancing, telling jokes only her nephew will laugh at, and pointing out her new bike to anybody who will listen.
